Trying to read it and I find it quite ironic that a website called "the luddite" requires you to have Javascript (which I don’t have in my default browser)

Well, the results are quite strange. Mine ( ploum.net ) is said to have 7 links to youdoblog. (which is false, there’s only one link to that website in all my 900 blog posts).

Mine is listed as "personal growth" and I find it quite funny (that’s probably the last category I would think for my blog posts)

That’s the essence of consumerism, isn’t it? "how to milk out users as much as we can" (with variation around "milk gently lot of users" or "milk hard a few addicted junkies", with everyone dreaming of being

I’m sorry I’m sounding condescending. I was trying to be funny. The point is that there are so many problems that it is even a problem to list them. Those problems are so evident to me that I didn’t thought people might not understand it. 1

"Being in love with the tech doesn't make someone a good CEO." I never said that this was a sufficient condition. I said it was a necessary condition. We have spent decades trusting tech-illiterate CEO’s because "they kn

What I find weird is how many professional web developers contact me to ask what theme I’m using on my blog, a straight HTML website with 42 lines of inline CSS. I even was asked once with JS library I was using. (there is no JS, it’s a blo

Let say for a moment that it is acceptable for the CEO of a corporation working on the independence of the Web to not have her personal independent webpage. I know, absurd, but let’s assume. Let say for a moment that it is acceptable that t

That. Exactly. Nothing to add. Anybody without a personal ten years old website using some hand-made HTML should probably not be CEO of Firefox.

At some point, we should stop thinking about engine/theme. This is a "normal" website. This kind of blog/website can easily be done by writing every blog post in a separate html file then doing a quick script to put toge

Battery life was about a week and is now about 3 days but it really depends on which apps you want to "freeze" and which apps you never want to "freeze" (to receive notifications). There’s also a "super saving mode&

I’m using Pure Maps and OSM And perfectly well. The only downside is that, on some maps, the grey-water is the same as the grey-road and it happened a few times that I thought a canal was a road when doing bike trip. Google Maps is working

It is simply a way for the first stage to keep an updated URL where to download instructions about what to do. Hardcoding URL won’t do it because your URL might be taken down quite quickly. In my days, this was done by connecting to an IRC

Velocity is indeed a nice idea. According to XKCD’s law, the probability to have an xkcd reference is proportional to the number of comments (see https://ploum.net/xkcds-law/index.html ) But adding velocity is really n

On a more serious note, I’m really wondering about the motivations. I see the following hypothesis: 1) Test/demonstration of a DDOS against a random target. 2) Attack against a project hosted on sourcehut to make it unavailable (there

Well, that’s the definition of a private company, isn’t it? It would be naive to think a company could behave otherwise in the long term.
