I know and support the approach, but have to keep «selling» this. Make documents itself as a C compilation system. I think it’s actually a better task runner! Python’s tox and invoke are nice, but much more noisy and language-specific.

Not an easy sell in my experience, windows people think it’s strange to install an archaic C build system as an add-on. And some people even git in cmd. It’s just not easy to get people on board with it.

I know it’s there now. But when will it end? Same argument goes for Send and other services.

I love this! Used to do it, too, but currently we’re stuck in windows. What do you do then? (IT blocks WSL so not that)

Maybe that’s true, but this is why I never use any mozilla features to store important data such as passwords - suddenly the project is on the last leg, and shortly thereafter the last leg is cut off life support.

No, it’s plain wrong. You could say «vue 2 uses 120% more memory than vue3», but vice versa is thus a different percentage (yes, 75%).

Shellcheck is, in general, one of the most undervalued dev tools hiding in the bushes. Especially as everyone has to shell at least a little bit, in particular linux newbies.

I worked in non-it but programming-is-useful roles until age 35. Now I’m a sw developer. I don’t particularly recommend for or against as it’s a personal choice after all. But feasible, yes absolutely.

There are a very finite number of HPC clusters available to any given researcher with a given grant. Each european country might have 1-10 available and you have to apply for compute time. If you’re in a commercial setting, your company mig

To get a track the trajectory has to be in the CCD plane? Doesn’t that mean abysmal efficiency?

I ask the same. It also has bugs where a zip/unzip roundtrip yields a different file. Not good.

How is it more or less magic than bash’s? It takes more context into account, sure, but it’s easy to understand and reason about.

Zsh isn’t posix compatible? Citation needed? Also what can bash do that zsh can’t? Genuinely curious, after using both for years.

Json has many design flaws, e.g. support for large integers, floating point infinity and NaN, for instance.

Seconding parquet and sqlite, but hdf5 and netcdf4 certainly deserve a mention, especially for multidimensional, scientific, and generally large datasets.

Yes we do, or people must die. Imagine how much energy we’d consume if people heated by outdoor fires, which was the highest tech 10-20kyears ago. Also agricultural advances are needed to feed us all.

Mozilla was always the «good security and tech, bad management» to me. I hope they don’t manage the tech away this time.

I’ve not seem glass as an option recently. I miss having glass glasses for the exact reasons you describe. Worn plastic is scratched and give nasty artifacts.

Nickel-62 is the most stable isotope, if memory serves. It’s not efficiently generated in star fusion, however, so iron-56 is believed by many to be the most stable.

Ah, this is standard python. For instance, «5 < x < 8» converts to «5 < x and x < 8». So «5 years experience and experience in FastAPI» is the pythonic reading of that job ad.

My thoughts exactly. On my phone, I have to trust Apple. On my laptop, I have to trust everyone who wrote code I downloaded. That’s two quite different crowds.
