Docker, rider, Firefox and a some of compiling. Fact is, people say terrific battery. And I was looking forward to terrific battery. But I get the same as what my Lenovo would give me. Maybe I was just already spoilt and lucky and expect8nh

I've been on Linux until I got an M1Pro. Docker build on mac's, even M1Pro are slow IMO compared to Linux.

I have a 14 inch m1 pro. When using it for work, I get approx 6 hours. I'm confused when people report 20 hours usage. I'm guessing this is during very light work and it looks if sleep time? FYI. My previous Lenovo p15v also got a

Nice. They mention a rust dev kit. Does this mean you can use rust on the standard espressif esp32 devkits? I just bought an espressif esp32-S3-wroom to learn on and would love to use rust if possible.

Thanks, can you suggest resources that would be useful in seeing up on macos?

That thing looks fairly to heavy. Funny to see everyone dressed so proper in a fun ride.

I just did a batch of fermented hot sauce using home grown chillis. It's only my 3rd batch. The first batches I left for 4 weeks, but I let this last batch ferment for 10 weeks. The wait was worth it, it's a beautiful batch. Love

M1 pro MacBook. Nice hardware, but I miss Linux everyday.

Agreed, something really off here. I used fedora plasma until 2 months ago and on boot it was always less than 1Gb. Once I started ides and things like intellij then I would see ram usages in the 2 to 3 gbs.

Doesn't mean they should never be put right either. Just because something has been called something that it should always be called that. That's seems to be big thing in western society at the moment.

Lol. I haven't heard someone define mac's and PCs as different like that in a long time. Apple did an amazing job to market it as such and create an us and them division. Imagine Tesla started marketing themselves as 'we&#x27

Last I heard a Mac is a PC. Hey even phones are PCs. They're all personal computers. In fact I would say mac's are more often PC then windows machines. Windows machines are often not personal and are used my many people in big org

I had a Lenovo P15 before my current M1Pro. That thing was a machine. I got roughly the same battery life through day of dev work, got to choose my OS, it did everything perfectly. Only thing it lacked on imo was looks. So yeah, in my exper

As per other commenters, it's the execution and implementatiin of snaps that i'm not a fan of, not the idea.

by pleb_nz 4y ago
I don't use unbuntu. But doesn't it's software centre always try to push you to snaps? Or can this be disabled. Last thing I would want is snap variants.

I would have been interested in using brave if they hadn't gone with Chromium. IMO, I don't think it's going to be a good thing for users if chromium ends up being the last thing standing.
