I had played with and really liked "owned". However there was design issues with it and that feature was forgotten.

Also macros do not capture their caller AST! They operate on the code passed to them. Another important point that removes any friction. This way nesting macros works with no problem, they're expanded in order. (I can think even more r

There is no "friction" with macros, sure lot's of packages implement their own utility macros but most can be hidden under ordinary procs. Macros CAN be called like ORDINARY procs, check syntactic sugar module [1], though not

Zig is interesting but still very immature. Its memory model is manual management thus has no advantages over rust or nim. So it's marketed as better C (not any more than that).

Also it's not the first time I get garbage results from google's fuzzy matching, happens with other words too. Arguably it's annoying and should be improved instead.

I think none mentioned here the fact that prolog and prologue are two different words. Prolog is a made up word, an abbreviation for "programmation en logique". Prologue means the introductory part. So why the confusion? I believe

Weak references are possible with the .cursor pragma applied on local variables and object fields. This release introduces cursor inference too, enabled by default with --gc:arc|orc, but only for local variables.

sorry for the ignorant question, how's nim optimizer going to benefit from write tracking? I suspect it has something to do with cursor inference (borrow checking)?

With Arc's "deterministic" memory management interfacing Nim DLLs from other languages should be better, although never tried it. One trick that works as a guarantee for me is writing Nim code in almost pseudo-language style,
