> I mean, you can, if you also install its dependencies. You will very likely bump into conflicts. Or you you need to upgrade a lot of fundational libraries (like libc), at which point why stay on Debian 10? Backports exist for a reason.

Arguably if you work on a mac and you use git regularly then just add it to ~/.config/git/ignore, and it will be ignored everywhere.

Conversely if a person loses their ability to move their limbs or to talk then they also become less inteligent.

Humans are also entirely predictable, all they do is move their limbs around, make sound, etc...

Also `if consteval {...}` in C++23. But really "if" still semantically means the same thing in all of these. Unlike "static", which is all over the place.

I'm also in Cambridge. Many car drivers are also dickheads, at least they think that using the indicator is optional when leaving a roundabout. This mostly annoys me when I'm on foot and try to cross the street near a roundabout.

I assume you have it on x86_64. I'm trying to make sense of that according to glibc implementation details[1] and Sys V/Itanium ABI. Default new and delete just use malloc/free. First 4 ints are interpreted as prev_size and s

The terminal emulator I use uses the strategy of swapping the background and foreground colors. This is decent most of the time, but it also has some undesirable corner cases: 1. You can't use selection as a hack to make text more legi

Linear arithmetic in sRGB strikes again. Although calculating perceived brightness in a linear colorspace is also just an approximation, but it's still significantly better than doing linear arithmetic in sRGB. Imageworsener has a nice

I meant exceptions as a user of the language. You can decide not to throw. You can mark functions noexcept. Granted, it's more awkward when you consume 3rd party libraries, but you can still wrap them in noexcept interfaces and be fine

C++ allows accessing inactive members in the special case when the active member shares a "common initial sequence" with the particular inactive member. So yeah, it's possible to store the tag in the common initial sequence o

Doesn't that patent's claims cover doubly-linked lists? The "auxilary order" could very well be reverse order. Seems like an obvious prior art.

Also the ISO is also very averse of patents. They will probably not standardize anything patent-encumbered. They would probably require invalidating the patent first before accepting it in the standard. Having said that this is the first

Exceptions are an optional feature. Also, if sufficient amount of constructors are marked noexcept, then the variant can never be valueless. Implementations are optimized accordingly. You also don't have to handle the exception, in whi

I don't know about the typescript compiler, but the way around template recursion limits in "classic" C++ template metaprogramming is to figure out a way to make it O(log N) depth instead of O(N) (for some value of N). Like i
