It's kind of tongue-in-cheek but NAD is ruining this great resource for he rest of us. Thinking about what's easier if the choice is take down all material and not spend money on a lawsuit or spend even more money to add captions

It scares me to think that the US will most likely have a president that not only doesn't understand technology but has proven that she cannot seem to appoint the right expertise to make up for that short coming. I foresee more of this

Yeah the five separate occasions I've reached out to my representatives I've received 4 form style responses and one that was never responded to at all.

It's certainly not universally true. Not for employers and not for citizens. There are people in the US that care about those things and it's lazy to neglect that and instead just state that all Americans don't care.

We? My state has a decent minimum wage, my company offers good benefits, including cheap healthcare and paid maternity/paternity leave. Some people might not care about their fellow workers but some of us do. Typecasting all American

> You Americans are so brutal to each other. So first off that's kind of offensive. Secondly, one commentor on HN doesn't reflect the views of 300M+ people. People typically come to HN because it fosters good discussion. Throwi

Well sure. Anecdotally, I'd (born in 1990) rather have fun now that I'm financially independent before potentially starting a family. It's appealing to work hard and play hard in your 20s for a large portion of my friends (to

Well that's not the experience I've had at all. I bet you if you ask any senior engineer they'd tell you the numerous different ways they have really messed over their careers. I think it's especially true in tech jobs w

I would definitely agree, partially. Intuitively classical physics makes sense but it was definitely helpful to me to understand the historical perspective for quantum mechanics. Or at least is where I think the undergrad Griffiths QM book

This seems like a case where none of the alleged criminals have probably ever interacted with Americans. It's easy to vilify a group you truly know nothing about.

Keep trying. Apply to more than 5 companies. What about internships? Perhaps some of those companies where you might have a connection can help out? Don't take this the wrong way, but the attitude you give off in your writing comes off

Nationality doesn't necessarly equate with race. For instance I'm sure that it doesn't matter if you're black or white German when receiving benefits of EU. It does matter what nationality you are.

Right, well, as selfish as it is I'd rather not live in a state where the majority is opposed to my way of thinking. If that makes me a bad person, whatever, but I'd rather be happy in life. Not everyone can be as selfless as you.

Microsofts track record for open solutions over the past 20 years naturally makes a lot of people distrustful. I'm actually surprised when I see people give Microsoft the benefit of the doubt despite years of building mistrust.
