Lord Kelvin said something similar in 1900 about there being nothing left to discover. Within 30 years quantum mechanics would be discovered/created.

I think both have their benefits. Drones probably work better as a last mile kind of solution where time is a factor (roads can be much more congested than the air)

This doesn't factor in stock compensation AFAIK. For instance, I started at Amazon at around $90k in salary plus signing bonus of $20k so like $110,000 my first year out of college back in 2013. I made about the same in 2014. In 2015 I

How loud is a drone at 400 ft? Louder than cars driving down a road?

I read orchestration in the sense that the owner of the business process (the person who is defining tasks) doesn't necessarily own the micro services being called.

To be clear the person you're responding to is talking about companies subsidizing those who choose to have children. That is different from a government social program. You can be for the government paying people on maternity/pat

To be clear we are talking about maternity leave and pay. That's a far cry from your hyperbolic statement of "the poor deserve to die".

I'd argue that even if you employer is fully supportive it will sideline your career. Raising kids is very time consuming. Even if you get lots of maternity leave time and child care benefits, if you plan to spend a lot of time with yo

Why? The majority of Americans don't see it as a big enough problem to complain about. Also getting something passed in every state takes time. Opinions need to change enough for legislatures to take heed.

To offer a counter point. In the three cities I've lived in in the US this is not the case. The vast majority of people do not know anyone that works at their local grocery store. From my perspective it's annoying. I need to go in

I don't think that's the intention but honestly I wouldn't be too upset if that is what happens. I'm having trouble these days not seeing stories about Trump every single day on most of the sites I visit.

You know what the worst part of my job at Amazon is? That I continually have to read about how terrible I am both on the internet and in real life (your average Seattlite seems to hate Amazon). Just in this thread alone I've been accus

This guy has some other really great articles. My favorite is: "GCE vs AWS in 2016: Why you should never use AWS" [1]. [1] https://thehftguy.wordpress.com/2016/06/15/gce-vs-aws-in-201...
