Of course he is, US is in a much stronger position than the EU in the technology sector. You think he'd be saying the same thing if Google, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft, etc... acted the exact same but were EU companies? I doubt it.

> and finally steer customers to those products Do you have data that shows this actually happens? Everything else you stated before this part is a win for consumers in my mind. More competitors is generally a good thing.

Where is the demonstrated consumer harm that warrants monopoly treatment? Adding private labels increases the amount of selection consumers have. You’d think we would hear more about it since basically every physical retailer owns their own

I’m not an expert in this but considering the purpose of these exploits is to gain knowledge of memory layout to then execute exploits against DRAM, simply securing your CPU isn’t going to be enough.

Counter argument: If everyone else was doing it why would I? The amount of garbage I individually generate is negligible. I do recycle and compost but I can imagine that a lot of people will have this same thought.

Why stop at Amazon? Seems to me that Intel is the invisible backbone behind ICE’s immigration crackdown.

> This one was bad enough that Bezos left the field, yet Amazon (like every other software company) still asks these style of questions of its engineering candidates. FWIW Amazon does experiment with different interview formats. They use

I find it fascinating that Google gets a 50M fine for not having the exact UX experience France thinks they should have but then fines a French company 250K for breach of actual user data. Makes sense.

Amazon does extensive testing for the main retail site. If it seems counter intuitive I can still almost guarantee you it’s either a test to see if it increases revenue or has been shown to increase revenues.

Amazon already has offices in NYC. Is it really that perfidious that employees would buy in a new condo building close to the existing office?

I fully expect you to publically release all your emails. Even if you don’t do anything illegally. Truth is power, after all even if nothing illegal was done.

I always found it fascinating this seems to purposefully (accidentally?) prohibit employees of big companies who are prohibited from open source software development work without jumping through a lot of hoops.

Historically, 32-bit address space was large on the fledgling internet. It was relatively easy and cheap/free to get a /8. Amazon probably wants it to sell to their customers who need ipv4 instead of v6

Okay but if this shows the reason for absentee voting does this leak sensitive health information? Name and address whatever, but if you have a physical impairment then is this now public record? Has anyone looked through the list?
