The state should step in and run anything that the private market cannot. I don’t live in NYC, but if there’s a market failure in groceries, do it.

Seems like before you’re elected is the perfect time to adjust policy positions. Or, really, any time you’re presented with new facts.

You mean, you use eMacs in terminal mode? I thought that was frowned upon? Isn’t a lot of the benefit is eMacs that you can get a true GUI, with no keybinding limitations, varying font sizes, etc?

My hang up is that I live in the terminal. What eMacs folks seem to do is use the terminal in eMacs, kinda in place of tmux? Is that right? And what terminal is the best? Is it really as nice as something like Foot? What happens if you open

This is what I use: ViT-SO400M-16-SigLIP2-384__webli I think I found it because it was recommended by Immich as the best, but it still only took a day or two to run against my 5 thousand assets. I’ve tested it against whatever Google is usi

If you open your favorite git editor in a jj repo, everything you stage will become a new commit, everything you revert will… revert. I still use Sublime Merge rather frequently.

Can I use this space to comment on how amazing Immich is? I self host lots of stuff, and there’s this one tier above everything else that’s currently, and exclusively, held by Home Assistant and Immich. It is actually _better_ than Google p

I lost about a month of family chats to a Samsung NVME. Yes, I was taking daily backups of the DB, but the damn drive didn't fail catastrophically and instantly. It just started silently corrupting the database, causing little errors u

I would vote for Bluefin: https://projectbluefin.io/ It's very similar to Bazzite, which you listed, but not gamer focused. You get an easy install, auto updates (without reboots), and a bulletproof, immutable OS that

Are you sure about the black-areas-blocking? I remember a long time ago, when I was younger and had time for this kind of tomfoolery, I noticed this exact issue in my BlueRay backups. I figured I needed to up the bitrate, so I started testi

XMPP is a client/server model too, that needs to store messages for some configurable amount of time. What distinction are you trying to make here? There are very few peer-to-peer messengers.

Last time I tried this I couldn’t even find an iOS client that supported reactions. Hate on the complexity of Matrix all you like, but at least when you ask your family to use it, they get a modern experience and don’t feel like they’re giv
