I had no idea you could do that! So, if you were starting a long trip, you could kick the REx on at like 80%?

The Volvo I ordered over a year ago has gone down in price and up on features, according to the spec sheet released today.

Yeah, it’s not a hub motor, so the unsprung weight should be a lot less.

by pkulak 3y ago
Yeah. A lot of it, for me, would be to ride out small power outages and blips. Taking money off my bill is the kind of secondary benefit I’d need to actually give it a shot.

This is the other end of the solar/wind puzzle. And it will work in the same way: individual consumers operating in their best self interest. My power company just came out with a new rate plan that I jumped on: 8 cents for all but 5-9

And success or not has nothing to do with OP's point.

I wonder if that’s the way to be a modern Linux user. Use old Think Pads for mostly everything, but an iPad for Lightroom and DRM content. Problem for me is that I like DxO way more than Lightroom…

You fund Amtrak properly. Greyhound should not be essential.

Ah yes, you are right. I’ll never actually look at the continuous unless I’m robbed, so it doesn’t bother me. Person and animal detection is really good, so you’d have to be very motivated to want to slop around in the space between.

Wait, what now? I have mine set to retain 3 full days of continuous.

I just have a PoE switch. It's actually easier to run ethernet than power, especially outside. Clogging up your WiFi spectrum with megabits of constant video seems like a terrible idea.

Volvo has always had amazing marketing. I know this isn't Volvo Trucks, but another banger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTjLmHXoNNw

I'll have to wait for better fractional scaling in Wayland before I jump to a laptop with a weird, in-between resolution. Hopefully soon though!

Why can't they just train on historical data?

Why not entirely compatible? Can’t have the Google bits though, which makes most stuff not work anyway, I guess.

When housing is spread out, each house is responsible for so much infrastructure, taxes by the one property can’t hope to cover it.

Just buy a bunch of stuff and don’t pay for it. It’ll be the same result, but you’ll have more things.

by pkulak 3y ago
We haven’t built new housing in cities in decades, so this isn’t surprising. Suburban hellscapes where you have to drive 40 minutes to buy groceries are cheap, but who wants that?

Nothing, but how do you make that look like a real photo? I want to know how this process survives edits. Is it like HDMI, where I can't watch cable TV on my Linux machines because I don't have some stupid chain of certs from the

ZWave. It a closed system, with hardware licensing, all that stuff. But it offers local control, at all times, exclusively. Zigbee is the fully-open version, but as such it's not a "hardware line" like ZWave is.

Be nice to just have a "default" that's just names, rounds and scores, which would cover like 1000 card games.

Constant out-of-home dinning isn't sustainable anyway, unless you massively underpay the staff, which isn't possible when unemployment is low. Hope everyone knows how to cook, at least a little bit. I don't know that we'
