I took the statement to imply no runtime dependencies, as no compile-time dependencies doesn’t really make sense.

I’ve had great success with Bluefin OS. It’s immutable, updates itself flawlessly and automatically, but is still easy to install and remove apps on. Show them where the Firefox button is and you’re done. Plus, it’ll run great on a 2013 Del

Yeah. There are sooo many good podcasts (so much so that I am still a “sustaining member” of OPB because of all the value they bring me), but if you turn it on in the car at a random time, you’re going to die of boredom.

It fell short three generations later. Grant wiped out the KKK and had former slaves in elective offices. Sure, he didn’t fix all the problems in 8 years, but he did more than anyone could have expected, and a lot of his progress was rolled

And all the city has to do is put their trash in cans. But that would remove some parking, so they choose rats. I don’t get it at all.

Yes. I’d like more, but that was the most I could do. I think the minimum is 25 grand. If I get run over by a car, I do not think 25 grand will quite make up that loss to my family.

It’s Mad Max out there right now. I don’t think I’ve seen a car driven more than a couple blocks without breaking at least one law since the pandemic. Constant 20 mph over the speed limit, even when the limit is 20. Barely slowing down for

Just look at what they charge. At least half my policy is collision. I maxed out liability at half a million and it’s about 10% of my bill.

The bridges are already free and open source and I don't see my friends and family racing to get them running on their laptops. Pidgin is great, but something needs to be running on a server or you don't get notifications. And wit

Doesn’t Toronto have far more cold days than warm? So wouldn’t the water mostly be cooled? And if that’s the case, there’s not a lot of headroom above freezing.

Sure, but you can choose your play style. I find I’m way more likely to win a chess game if I play a few moves of a really safe, boring opening, and then just focus on keeping everything protected and never extend myself too much until the

No way am I selling my own car. Dealing with someone else’s financing paying off my financing. Letting people drive it around. Potentially sitting on it for months, losing money ever second it sits there. No thank you.

This is always brought up as the Achilles heel of Rust but, like... it's not that bad. You just need a weak reference. In fact, it's no different than a language like Swift, where everything is always reference counted. However, S

I tried Hyprland from Sway, and my takeaway was that I liked auto tiling more than manual. Didn’t much care for all the extras though, so I actually moved to, and still use, River.
