There's a famous poem written by a Nepali poet Laxmi Prasad Devkota: O Lord, Please maketh me Sheep. It's too heavy to translate entirely but a succinct summary is that to not have intelligence is the only path towards happiness.

I understand what you're saying but if you look at the effects alone (and not the means), it seems well justified. Their increased revenue allowed them to provide more and more (than LibGen at least) books to the users free of charge.

Not just that, many mathematical advances have been made well before physical applications ever caught up. For example, Calculus was invented in the late seventeenth century while Maxwell only used it to discover EM equations in the 19th ce

A tangential question. What exactly does it feel to be like in Adderall? I'm intimately familiar with the 15-minutes venture into Reddit/HN etc so if I were to, say, take Adderall, just what exactly inside me would change?

As a grad student, it seems like a pipe-dream. I've come to acknowledge that maybe I'm not the multitasker I thought I was but sadly, with tens of deadlines to juggle around, no respite for me.

The major thing that people overlook in note-taking is "habit". Doesn't matter if you use Notepad, Obsidian or just plain pen&paper, the single most thing that matters is that you do it consistently. And like you said, co
