At-will employment wouldn't make sense in professional sports. Imagine a team that got eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. A player could give two weeks notice and then join a team that was still competing.

The log viewer and query tools looks excellent. Here are some (hopefully) constructive comments: - As others have mentioned, change the NS prefix. Only Apple should be using that. - The API is not canonical looking Objective-C/Cocoa. It l

Boost bind and fast delegates do certainly suck. (I used to work in games in a past lifetime.) But this is most certainly a C/C++ problem. In Objective-C, the @protocol keyword gives the language first class delegation and works really, r

I don't think the problem here is with Google Ventures. The problem is that founders don't understand convertible notes with caps. More by Mark Suster here: http://www.bothsidesofthetable.com/2012/09/05/the-truth-abou...

I didn't work on DoW2 but I worked on CoH. The core AI engine was similar. CoH added features to improve group pathfinding and pathfinding for when terrain changed, etc. I don't remember all of the details since this was 5 or 6 years ago

Interesting strategy. They're pulling out profile, place, friends views into an SDK. Looks like they are going to try to be THE profile view, place view, and friend view for each App on your phone.

Nope. iOS 6 adds auto layout to Interface Builder and Core Layout to the runtime. You'll either start at the largest resolution and setup constraints as the screen size shrinks or at the smallest resolution and do the opposite.

Java is a language that is in a weird space. It doesn't compile to binary like C/C++ and it isn't high-level and interpreted like a Ruby or Python. It's a weird middle-times language. It originally appeared in 1995 and is somewhat pioneeri

Sorry but this is not 'ideal', this is Capacity Planning 101. If you're launching a new product which you expect to be very popular, take your peak traffic and double or quadruple it and build out infrastructure to handle it ahead of time.
