Can I ask about a similar real problem I had a few times? How would you format this code? class Batman(): # ... def handle_jokes(self, villains): for villain in villains: if villain.supports

Agreed. It's "funny" how common 1000+ character uncommented oneliner regular expressions are, while in any other programming language even things like `if (flag) return;` would get rejected for being dangerous, unreadable, un

In other words regular expressions are equivalent to regular grammars [1]. (Except "modern regular expressions" support some construct that make them match some non-regular grammars. [2]) [1] https://en.wikipedia.org&

Interesting question! "For data storage, New Horizons carries two low-power solid-state recorders (one backup) that can hold up to 8 gigabytes (64 gigabits) each." (From [1] linked above.)

These are from 5.4 million km away. According to [1], in a few days (July 14) a Pluto system flyby is planned, at a distance of just 12.5 thousand km (and a speed of 13.78 km/s), and they can take images of Pluto's surface at 70

Sure, feel free to merge. I don't know any resources specifically about gzip compression. Demosceners have very practical and fun compression know how, so maybe look into: http://www.farbrausch.com/~fg/seminars&#x

Since the order of the samples doesn't matter, could you sort them somehow so the Gzipped stream of samples can be compressed better? (E.g. sort the color index by component average, by red, by maximum component, ... and sort the point

This reminds me very much of C# async and await (although "async for" and "async with" are very nice additions). It seems to me many other languages are now basically adopting wholesale these same features from C#. I

I really like your bonus idea. But it's surprising that after you explain how complex licensing scenarios can be you still recommend to force a very inflexible single-license-per-repository model. What about dual licensing? Differently

The problem with XMPP MUC's is that it's modelled after IRC, as that's what the protocol hackers know and love. But (please forgive the hyperbole) normal people don't use IRC, they use Skype. And the Skype model is so fo

You are so right. I really wanted XMPP to succeed and I used in happily back in 2002 or so. But it just doesn't seem to have evolved at all. You pretty much nailed it with persistent group chat and shared chat history. Skype can really
