That 2% is received more form the Consumers directly. Banks make 80% of income from Consumers in terms of late fees, interest charges, annual fees and various other charges they slap on consumers. Part of this goes to pay for the rewards i.

FYI: Of the total Paypal is processing i.e. ~145B/year only half is Paypal branded i.e. appx $70-80B/year, the rest of it goes through Verisign gateway

When Paypal launched is did not do "foreign" accounts. We're still in early stage. But more importantly Noca is more of an alternative to Authorize.net than Paypal (the "Paypal competitor headline came from Techcrunch - not from Noca )
