I think the key insight here is that corrections you can trust are great - you can just let the autocorrect do its thing & stay in flow state. Corrections that you have to check every time because they’re not reliable enough are worse t

Yeah. Stable diffusion runs fine on my 8gb Polaris card (rx580) & I've heard of forks that will let you run it in 6 or even 4gb VRAM at a small cost in render time.

I did try that, but I don’t think the pytorch Vulkan backend is complete enough. I never did get a working install going down that route though, so I could be wrong.

IIRC it’s just the standard AMD build from https://repo.radeon.com/rocm/apt/5.2.3/ I think. It’s possible I had to do something weird, but I think it supports Polaris OOB. rocminfo certainly thinks so. I’m ru

Stable Diffusion works for me with a Polaris GPU. Had to compile my own local copy of Tensorflow to use it, but everything runs.

Zen4 will do 16bit BFloat FP, so one would expect it to do a lot better than threadripper on ML training applications?

I think Rafale uses Martin-Baker seats. The only story I can find in the news is that time a retiree actidentally ejected himself by grabbing onto the ejection seat handle though.

If you consider that the training set includes all western art from the last few centuries it’s not too surprising. There’s an awful lot of nudes in that set & most of them are female.

To be fair, the reason the filter is there is that if you ask for a picture of a woman, stable diffusion is pretty likely to generate a naked one! If you tweak the prompt to explicitly mention clothing, you should be OK though.

The standard release works fine, if you tweak the code to use the CPU pytorch device instead of CUDA. It does take about an hour to generate a set of images with the standard options on my AMD 2600 CPU though!

That means the NSFW filter kicked in IIRC from reading the code. Change your prompt, or remove the filter from the code.

I’ve been doing this for years. I generally suggest holding off on upgrades in the weeks immediately following a Debian stable release is a good idea: when everything that has been held back from testing suddenly arrives at once, bugs somet

Simon Cozens spent some time writing a new typesetter called SILE: https://sile-typesetter.org/ On of the design goals was to be able to achieve exactly that kind of line matching. IIRC it can ensure that lines on the

It had one micrometeoroid strike that was larger than expected. This might mean the rate of strikes will be much larger than predicted, or it might be that we were just unlucky. We'll know more in a few months.
