Anyone who's used Windows recently can say it happens a _lot_ less now. And also, I see not a "Blue" screen of death, but other screens of death on my work macbook all the time (all official 2019 MBP, no customizations). :| .

I do. We don't use Ubuntu / Fedora. We use the stone-age RHEL/CentOS distros. AND we have NVidia drivers to worry about almost everyday. And all our work-arounds go away as soon as IT updates the Linux Kernel. That never happ

Not everyone is here to become a Computer Scientist or even a computer professional unfortunately, they want to study their favorite subject, do screen recordings, make nice presentations etc. Our company uses RHEL / CentOS distributio

Yes, I was waiting for someone to write about it, but no one else did. I can see such a vast API that TamperMonkey offers in comparison to the competition. I don't have an immediate use of that extended API, but can definitely see usin

You can actually still use an offline Text editor with TamperMonkey as well (at least with their latest UI, I just checked it)

It does, now, but its developer took a really long time in porting, in that time TamperMonkey was developed and had really gained popularity.

The benefit you say that bookmarklets have is in fact also the biggest drawback of bookmarklets as well - that you have to manually click on them - and you can't press that button in a loop like a script can do :). Personally for me us

What exactly is better in ViolentMonkey? Just want to know because I keep working with userscripts and after GreaseMonkey's collapse TamperMonkey has been my default userscript manager.

IIRC, the developer initially resisted shifting to WebExtensions and then eventually (my assumption) half-heartedly did convert his extension to it, but in the meantime TamperMonkey developer got to it much sooner and worked hard for making

Great initiative, but if it's sampling only the few seconds previews from the songs, then I doubt it will be useful. Also, a language filter is essential for both training the model and listing the results. I searched for a few Hindi l

When iPhone started, it only got two years of updates. Then some got 2, 3, 4 or 5 years of updates. Android is fundamentally different and has to support thousands of devices, if a manufacturer is still giving 5 years of guaranteed updates,

I'm not at all assuming all technological progress is an unadulterated good - in fact, nothing is, everything would have a downside if it has an upside. All I'm saying is it's still bound to happen and we can do nothing abou

You are saying it as 10 years of updates is a norm with Apple phones, but it's not. If you read the article, it says that they believe their security issue might have been 'actively exploited'. Companies do release security u

People are ultimately going to do that. And if we really can't figure out a book written by an AI from that written by a human, then what's the point of all of it? Eventually good authors will still succeed as their writing style

I've observed something similar, and agree with so many other citing COVID as one of the reasons. I just have to think on things for a lot longer than before when I'd get solutions much quicker. This started happening after covid.

As I said above, it's about consistency. If you really believe Cmd+C and Cmd+Shift+V paradigm is what macOS has chosen for themselves in their Finder, they should then choose it everywhere else in their own OS, including in their text

Unpopular opinion: Windows UI has a lot of problems, but it's still much more intuitive and stupid-proof than macOS. Having worked with both, macOS is just inconsistent to the core (and Finder is an application one would have to pay
