Similar to charity executives who are paid handsomely to not solve homelessness or whatever the cause is. It’s a grift.

Would you kindly expand briefly on what you are alluding to? I’m unaware of the court case. TIA.

May I ask why you stopped using soap? I can imagine not using soap on arms, legs and torso, but not for intimate areas! I’m intrigued for sure :)

A Brit driving through Kansas listening to Led Zeppelin on a Sunday morning. Thank you for this. It must have been a fun project to create!

You read it as envy, others may read as the opposite of envy. “Google’s engineering grunts” for many are surveillance capitalist lackeys. And that’s being polite.

A contrarian outburst seems to be the default on HN these days. Perhaps it has seeped in via the rampant infestation of politics. The ‘hackers’ get blasted when sharing projects. Personally I’m in awe of this tech. But I also detest its ine

How many users has Figma taken from Adobe? Perhaps that’s the 20 billion dollar question.

Forgive me, but I’m sat here wondering what “squirt” is in reference too. I don’t wish to google it. Diarrhoea related? So women can defacate but not urinate?

Nostalgia product aimed at 40+yo with disposable income, I guess. Depending on the build quality I might bag one for myself!

It was for me, too. I was subbed to dozens of rooms that I never used. I trimmed it down to about 10 rooms and it’s noticeably faster. Bulk deleting messages is still an absolute bastard (app hangs for days).

Viewing on mobile. What with the business name and swiping on large photos, it feels like a dating app. I’m not immediately interested in what people look like. I want to see their work/info/price.

True! I mow my lawn with a push mower for the exercise. Neighbours think I’m nuts. I have toyed with getting a scythe but I have pets and the unthinkable could happen.

We’ve become so removed from it in the West. We make phone calls instead to employ the services of strangers to deal with it. It doesn’t seem right, or healthy. IDK.

LocalCDN is an active fork of Decentraleyes. From memory it was forked back in the day to add a Chrome plugin (the original was Firefox only at the time). That’s from memory though, so please do a little research to confirm.

Wouldn’t pausing pihole allow, say, a Roku box or “smart” TV to exfiltrate data that was previously blocked? This is why I use a VPN for certain websites to bypass pihole filtering.

British TV in general gets it right and always has. 6 episodes per season, 2-4 seasons. Ricky Gervais’ The Office UK is a prime example, 14 episodes. The US version has 188.
