I use a MacBook Air with the 24GB RAM upgrade for exactly this use case. You won’t be running Linux easily outside of Docker (or similar tools) but the AI tools are all pretty reliable running on bare MacOS. Also, the lack of active cooling

To consistently generate the same image, we’d all have to agree on a standard model, which I can’t see happening any time soon. They feel more like fonts than code libraries.

How are we supposed to think about SIMD in Big-O? Because this is still linear time if the kernel width is less than the max SIMD width (which is 16 I think on x64?)

We don’t know the aspect ratio of the client window before-hand and on web, there are a lot of possibilities! So if any pre-blurred image is meant to peek out around the edges, those edge widths are dynamic. Otherwise, a low-res blurred ima

What are the penalties imposed on a customer who does not throw out their recalled butter? As far as I know, there are none? So with the current messaging, anyone willing to take on this risk by keeping their butter can keep it. People who

As a casual Rust user, I feel it’s a bit ridiculous to think something could outdo Linux only by choice of programming language. Is that the “nontechnical nonsense” here?

Melatonin and Magnesium together at night is amazing, if you want to keep experimenting. Watch out for the pre-packaged combos though that usually have Magnesium Oxide and is a bit laxative. I prefer Magnesium Glycinate which is a bit gentl

The link to baldness comes indirectly through increasing DHT. The increase in DHT, if I understand right, can speed up existing hair loss. Where it gets shaky is that DHT is also increased by excersize and follow-up studies accounting for t

I personally find that sleep quality does drop a bit but I also don’t need as much every night. The sleep-tracking apps I use say the opposite though, that quality is much higher and I get more hours in. It’s a bit of a different flavour of

You need to be drinking more water while taking creatine. This is important to point out because the side effects of not getting enough water are very rough and taking creatine can put you there faster.

Maybe some mobile apps or IoT hardware with pinned certs that would all need to be rolled first? So they could get a new cert immediately but still need the old one for a while until the roll over completes.

An underscore prefix was added in some microservices but required in all. Abstracting it out fixed the code paths requiring an underscore but not adding one.

As much as I am a fan of this point of view, it’s important to remember that correlation is not causation. Flipping causation from the article makes sense too: Most of the shared bits of infrastructure code is C so, if there is a bug in sha

Your keyboard has a button with ‘1’ printed on it. When you push that, you don’t always get an integer or a rational number. You can convert what you get to either. So there must be overlap with ASCII somehow?

I agree that the language used wasn’t perfect, but… If a claim is not verifiable, it can only be taken on faith. Same as all the existing apps in the category that this one aims to replace. Is there a better word we can use to describe this

The only proof we have of privacy is a claim made by an internet account. With source code, auditing that claim is a lot easier. “Trust but verify.”

I’ve been taking 5mg daily of Creatine for about 6 months now. It gives me a surprising amount of energy that is still very noticeable if I miss a day, even with a full 8 hours of sleep. A big surprise I got early on was that my previous co

It is much more expensive to port scan against UDP than TCP so a nonstandard UDP port would be a lot safer again. OpenVPN is one of the only services that let you do that though.

I’ll take this a step further too and say that if Agile is being introduced by management, it means they don’t trust their teams to organize themselves. Agile, as sold, can’t actually work in that environment. The battle is already lost.
