It was my understanding that natural immunity to covid19 isn’t long-lasting but does work well as a replacement for one of the two doses. A quick Google search turns up this too: https://news.yahoo.com/vaccination-may-more-p

My first thought too was that this got dropped more as protecting-an-asset (Wish has a ton of SF-area investors) than stopping-a-conversation. Out of curiosity (banned book effect) over this, I did read through the article. The tone is way

What’s “creepybill”? Obviously Bill Gates but a quick search isn’t showing what’s it a reference to?

The RAM chips on the back of the card aren’t cooled well and can hit 110C regularly when mining. That can be fixed by using better thermal pads for the most part though. So my bet is that EVGA used a set of really bad thermal pads and the R

That was my first thought too! Looks like it’s actually a command-line tool that scans backups though. It might get access to all your private keys but can’t install malware!

I think it has a lot more to do with burnout than anything else, and the article does kind of touch on that a bit. Working through the pandemic was tough but, it was important, so we push through to be helpful. Now that it’s done though, I

A Denial of Service attack (flood the server with requests) might look like that. What I would do instead though, is have the form pre-filled and scripted to submit the moment it’s live. That might be done with curl/Python/etc to

I just hope the Reactive Oxygen Species that are 10M times more lethal to bacteria aren’t equally more lethal to humans. Also, if this requires electrolysis-level power, it might still not be worth it in most cases.

I wonder what Facebook (et al) planned to do if this went live? Would it be easier to drop all of Florida (similar to the Australian news thing) than comply? Or maybe open up a Florida-only version to limit exposure? I’m not sure this legis

Growing wheat and grinding it out into flour isn’t something I’ve ever heard anyone take on as a hobby before. Having all that actually cost less (including time) than buying bread would be a huge achievement!

I’ve noticed this too. It’s a lot easier to talk about someone behind their back if you’re behind a locked, sound-proof door (which is what Zoom meetings are). It feels a lot to me like the “Old Boys’ Clubs” are stronger remote, not weaker,

That was my read on this too and Dr. Bloom accidentally hacked the NIH. The next question though is whether they’ll change this or not? Is the guarantee that anyone can retract at any time important enough to make the db useful? Will the Ch

It reminds me a bit more of talking about p50 vs p99 latency times but where we’re not measuring production data, more like what we’re guessing production loads will look like.

Maybe The Matrix wasn’t the right power fantasy to compare it to? How about the DBZ over-9000 meme instead because he does have a big group of friends that help? The problem with power fantasies is that they don’t really show all sides of t

It’s a very addictive, ego-boosting way of thinking but is very broken. It’s like this fantasy that you could be _the one_ like Neo from the Matrix. Except that doesn’t work in real life because everyone has the same fantasy of being _the o

There’s a dev-time vs. reliability debate here, I think. I don’t think it’s worth worrying about most of the time but I would approve a PR if someone did do the work. When scripting things that probably shouldn’t be scripted but I care abou

I use emoji for this pretty often but mostly just as inside jokes. If you don’t let someone in on the joke, it might have a completely different meaning. The eggplant is an obvious example but not as subtle as what I mean.
