The quality of MacOS releases have been dropping since Snow Leopard. With Sierra, they dropped the accessibility setting for disabling scroll inertia. This is serious for someone who's getting RSI. I use Elementary OS as a secondary OS

Just to add to your point: the titanium used to make the SR-71 Blackbird came from the Soviet Union.

It's interesting many countries such as the US, UK and NZ have banned rare earth magnets due to fear of people swallowing them. The data they used to back the banning included all products ingested, and vice wrote up an article here:

I can't find any evidence that nuclear testing causes any form of global health risks. The amount of material dispersed is negligible on the global scale, and while I've found a few sources that state this material can cause thyro

I agree. Unless the CS major is planning on specializing in embedded software, things like complexity classes and database normalization would be of more use. Even that is overkill, as in my experience leveraging and utilizing software libr

Soon we'll have neural networks taking care of most of the animation pipeline. Most animators work long hours for little pay, and in most western countries it's simply outsourced this the third world. There was a bit of drama late

This is really cool. I might take this on for a project. Though it doesn't look like it's battery powered, which is disappointing.

I'll have to agree it's not a good fit. Seemly the only advantage brutalism has is ease of construction. Given that a site, just like a building, usability and aesthetics will pay off in the long run.

Google could easily take the initiative on the DNS query front and implement DNSCrypt by default on Chrome. It would booster client privacy and also block ISP from selling usage data. So it would be a win-win for Google.

I would gladly fork out the cost of a university tuition for CRISPR therapy to give my children the edge. But many would be adverse to this, probably to the extent of being a same sex marriage/abortion level of debate.

One thing I do like about msys over cygwin is that compiled binaries don't have a dependency on a dll. If msys2 is using cygwin libraries, does it have the same dependency?

I use deploynaut as my deploying tool, and I have to say it's made the process much smoother. Previously I'd simply use git to update a code base or sql workbench/pgadmin to update a database.

This is a very cynical and hostile view of Apple fighting for the privacy of its customers. If Apple were prioritizing defending their walled garden over privacy, they wouldn't have put strong encryption on iMessage and other services.

I've often thought there's a massive market for ReactOS in legacy support. There's so many platforms (ATMs, flight controllers, banking software) that use unsupported windows versions. Many of these platforms would pay an arm

From a societal perspective, is it better for us to go after one person who stole $100,000,000, or million people who stole $100? I really like the cross section though. Currently conservatives seem to be obsessed about cracking down on wel
