That’s awesome! I wonder if there are projects to create a repository of pre-split public domain music? Seems like something the internet archive could host once created.

There’s no need to be dismissive since they say this in the first sentence. Preparing an easy to use app for all platforms probably does get this into more creative hands, and that’s a net-positive contribution I can appreciate.

Having given them my number, I’m unsure if they have a lot of raw data. The results come back like “JXXX SXXXX” instead of “JOHN SMITH”. Maybe they have all the data and are obfuscating to prevent misuse, or maybe thats all the data they ge

Lots of interesting ways to explore throughout, anomalies, and congestion in here. I wonder which other transit agencies publish this quality and quantity of data.

Do you also make backups of HD movies using this process, by any chance? Like you, I have no issue purchasing something. But I don’t like “purchasing” something stored in a walled garden online-only service that can be taken away.

At first I noticed maps.google.com wasn’t responding. Then googling “is Google down?” failed too. It all seems to be working now, but Downhound and other outage sites seem to corroborate the temporary outage.

I’m a huge advocate of this, and have seen it play out well with the Linux Foundation and Mapzen. In this case, their employees seemed to be very thoughtful about how their projects could live on and be useful beyond the company lifecycle.

This is great! I work on visualizations all day and it’s a real skill to interpret size and angle of 3D shapes. 10 seconds per shape on my first play through. I think I would have been a lot worse if the shapes didn’t move.

I’ve been able to make larger image montages in less time with gm compared to im with my MacBook, so I switched. I was surprised by this and could be doing something wrong, but others around me had the same experience for my situation.

Does this have support for installing and linking to useful native utilities, like GraphicsMagick? Python is such a good glue. Sometimes I want to make a small GUI that combines great python libraries with great CLI applications.
