Spoiler alert, the funniest model goes to Falcon Instruct (40B): > Tell a joke about going on vacation. > "What did the ocean say to the beach?" "Nothing, it just waved."

As Philip points out, Sabine Hossenfelder’s quick summary on LK-99 2 weeks ago punched large holes into this whole thing in less than 5 minutes. I wish media outlets presented skeptic viewpoints instead of just hype.. but that doesn’t sell.

Oh wow, I’ve misread that for as long as it’s been there. It doesn’t look like a button, but tapping it scrolls the page down to age rating.

Can this scope be shared in some way if you’re the owner of multiple apps? I thought it was strange seeing Threads listed as a 12+ year old app when I know it’s brand new… it gave me the feeling someone could just fudge numbers and more if

To start, the admin boundaries and POIs are given a more permissive license. They’re mission is to make permissive map datasets.

If you’d like great and reasonably priced coffee check out The Coffee Movement near China Town. They do a $3.50 Cappuccino and it’s where barista’s go after work. They’re also on the same street as the free Cable Car museum.

At first I thought this would be about technical habits, but I’m glad it’s actually about longevity.

Maybe the vscode plug-in can autocomplete an SVG? That’d be helpful.. setting up every export takes a lot of time.

I’m also really happy they didn’t pounce on the AI bandwagon before figuring out the right thing to make. At the same time, I’m excited about the Diagram acquisition to jump-start whatever they’re going to build!

I wasn't even a programmer back in 2001, but flipping through this book shows how certain concepts endure, even as technology evolves. It's a bit like the snake eating its tail - even as we move on, we find ourselves revisiting tr

I’m a maintainer for vis.gl (deck.gl and react-map-gl), and am existed you’re focusing on infrastructure components. Open data and nav/location solver services are key for many applications, and today most options for what I’d consider

Here’s an example with code https://deck.gl/examples/google-3d-tile I usually recommend downloading the repo and installing this standalone example as a base to learn with.

It’ll work in the situations you’ve described. The TerrainExtension can be applied to the TerrainLayer or the 3DTilesLayer. The TerrainLayer uses the 2D raster data to dynamically generate 3D meshes, and your understanding is correct in tha

Thanks! It’s been a great community to collaborate with. The deck.gl group works pretty closely with MapLibre these days in react-map-gl, and Cesium as well on 3D tile loaders in loaders.gl

As a contributor to deck.gl, I’m super excited to use this! Contributors added a TerrainExtension [0] to drape or offset 2D data onto 3D surfaces in 8.9, which is huge for 3D visualization in general since common 2D layers would often be oc
