If you don't want to read the topic, ignore it and move on. I'm not interested in Django but I don't try to stifle conversations on it. Why are there so many gatekeeping people around that want to prevent discussions on topic

If you spend enough time watching nature videos like I do, you will notice that the vast majority of animals are eaten alive by their predators. It's slow, and exceedingly painful and it is ubiquitous. So even if plants were conscious,

I've lived in Silicon Valley for over 2 decades as well. Until iPhone, Apple was not prestigious at all. I still remember Brass Ring hiring conventions where the Apple hiring booth was completely empty. In fact, until recently, all I&#

I think it's stupid when people say they don't think code comments are good or necessary. It's a weirdly religious debate and frankly I think having a ton of code comments is great. Some of my closest friends think that all c

Meh, it happens. Sending out test emails is about the best-case on the spectrum. I've been involved in cleaning up incidents where someone accidentally sent out discounts worth 7 figures that were meant to be for a test but it was misc

It's sad but interesting to see the pivot that Triplebyte is taking. As the top comment says, if they were doing great they wouldn't be pivoting, so it speaks volumes. I still don't understand exactly what benefits it brings

Triplebyte was basically friction. It didn't help you skip the onsite and instead forced you to do two onsites, once with Triplebyte and once with the hiring company. It didn't make sense to ever engage with Triplebyte.

Uber will achieve profitability some time this year. How will your change your narrative then to villify them? And cab companies are notoriously corrupt. You're actually defending them?

I think I was younger than 13 when Back to the Future came out. I saw that 3 times with my friends, and each time we had to travel by bus by ourselves for about 45 mins across town.

I recently watched E.T. by Steven Spielberg, and was shocked at how different life was in the 80s. The mom left Elliott at home alone, sick with a fever, at the age of 9. She also left the daughter who was 3.5 alone while she went to the su

Similar to what others have said, say that you were trying your own startup for a couple of years but it never panned out. Be ready to describe what you wanted to do. That's what I did after 1 year of taking off to do my own thing. No

Yes, it was a descendent. Instacart is a descendent of Webvan too. The idea is the same but Amazon already had preexisting technology and market dominance. You can't compare Webvan to Amazon.

Actually it reinforces that the idea actually is the easiest part of the equation. Execution is the key and the winners are the ones who executed the best. You can't compare Webvan to Amazon.
