HN gives me reddit-from-5-years-ago vibes. Reddit today is unreadable for me.

I am not coming from that angle. I just find the branding to be poorly executed and would be concerned about TLD blocking.

It's very off-putting, I agree.

It jiggles in a most unpleasant manner for me as well. I love these types of bugs. If these guys are going for a "Goat Simulator" vibe (notoriously buggy, part of the charm), they've nailed it.

Do you have monitor arms? The tiny wobble is exaggerated by the monitor arms. Plus, when standing, I do often lean into the desk a bit.

It must be, because I've used one and it produces an unacceptable level of wobble. It's not much by itself, but if you add monitor arms and such, and raise the desk, it is quite noticable

If that is the case, no brand has high enough build quality. We have tons (literally) of multi-thousand dollars desks from Steelcase and other high-end brands - all of the two-leggers wobble.

I have a two-legged Steelcase with the design you mention, and it does wobble considerably compared to my four-legged one at home. Raise your desk way up and give it a nudge - watch the monitor jiggle

Two-leg standing desks are very wobbly. You should offer a premium model using a four-leg design, similar to DeskHaus's [1]. I don't represent them, but I do have one of these desks. [1] https://desk.haus/products&

Far and away the coolest PDF I have seen in a while. Thank you for this! I am signed up for the waitlist and can't wait to give them my money.

Not OP, but I work from home and the office, and also take my machine into meetings occasionally. The portability is nice. I assume the same for just about anyone in my position. (I'd have two Studios and an Air if it were a utopia sce

maybe I will convince my boss to get me the new one, and I will give the m1 pro to my teammates :) Other than that I agree (though, as I have stated elsewhere, this is good. less landfill). The m1 pro is just insane - I sold all of my other

That's a good thing! The fact that the original version is still going strong is a (huge) selling point for Apple. I am glad to see a class of device meant to last upwards of 5 years.

Definitely get one, even if just to mess around with it. The apple watch (and recently, android watches) have great sensors. The more basic fitbit-style devices work great too. They are so great to just learn how your body reacts to stuff,

I've been using Raycast as a drop-in upgrade for Spotlight. I'm tempted to try Alfred but this has been great.

No, not without several other 0-days to exploit. See the other comments here. Essentially, the attacker must have access to another buffer overflow of some sort. This is only a bypass for a specific line of defense, called PAC - a security

"Just as well" is very relative here. For people who are truly competitive 100ms is enough to create a massive disadvantage against someone of similar skill.

I use Docker and Colima constantly on M1 and have had very few issues. Granted, my use case for those things is probably quite simple compared to someone in Ops. For web development, I believe that Apple Silicon is really the place to be ri

I agree, and unless someone has a better reason than the ones I have seen, (saving tiny amount of bytes, less keystrokes, dx) I am convinced it's a bad idea to omit the end tags. It causes way more trouble than those benefits are worth

That's why I put it in the quotes. Google will flag you for core web vitals issues if you're serving jpegs and pngs all over the place. Many CDNs automatically serve the best format compatible with the useragent these days! Also..

I am sticking to my Intellij products for this very reason. They work great and the motives of the company are straightforward.
