My question is, why do you need separate processes to handle mostly async operations? You need to do HTTP requests and database queries, that is mostly waiting, there is no CPU needed for this. You can do it with one process and millions of

I'm all ears for a better solution. We probably will have less than a gigabyte of storage needs, and egress is what it is with some local caching from the servers. The only thing I want is to not store the files in the application serv

Ah, I forgot to add that: I use Wasabi's S3 storage for files. This is probably the most amount of money I pay and a bit wasteful. We have about one or two images per month in uploads, but Wasabi is 5 euros a month for the first teraby

Funny that you mention engagement. I've been witnessing many people in the fedi who say they have much less followers now but the engagement has been so much better than in Twitter since many years. And the comments have been good and

I use Backblaze B2 for my music backups. It costs a bit to restore the files from there, but just storing them is cheap enough for me to not care.

I never really used Twitter in my life, but I've found the Fediverse to be so good I even browse Hacker News much less nowadays. No matter will Twitter collapse or not, this has been quite a lovely addition to my toolbox. And I love to

The Owl House is one of the best modern western animated series available right now. Of course Disney cancelled it because "it didn't fit to the Disney brand". If you're into animated series, that is one not to miss. Yea

Nice! That website is (at least here in Germany) kind of a standard for laptop reviews. They always go with the same formula, same tests, same report. It's very easy to see how the different models compare. Sadly they do not test with

You might want to check the new ThinkPad Z13 and Z16 models with latest Ryzen CPU. You get similar performance and battery life as you'd expect from an M1. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-Z13-laptop-rev...

Plex with Plexamp might be right now the best music streaming setup for music you own. Works great, and does stuff like encoding to 128 kbps Opus if using a connection with limited data. I'd like to add Roon and Roon ARC to the list. S
