Start doing that in your spare time. You will likely find that write your own game is way more dreadful than your day job :^)

That's why my CI pipelines never rely on proprietary stuff. I use multistage Dockerfiles + Buildkit to implement secrets caching, etc... My CI scripts just do "docker build" and "docker publish". It makes doing thin

You actually need OAuth / SAML if you give 2 shits about your customers.

Navegating to https://www.google.com/chrome/ in Edge fires a prompt: "O Microsoft Edge é executado na mesma tecnologia que o Chrome, com a confiança adicional da Microsoft" Download works fine though.

I use Fastmail + 1Password integration 1PW creates an unique email for each one of my accounts. That said any email provider that allows you to use your own domain will likely support aliases, which also should do the job.

I mostly use virtual credit cards for websites. My bank allows me to create an unlimited number of them. (Well, there's likely a limit but prob very high)

I've worked as a sysadmin (not a school though) and I've researched before how feasible it would be to allow a subset of my users to run Linux as their main client. The tooling simply is not there yet. Your only choice is to pay v

Linux dominates server side for sure, but very feel companies run Linux in the client side. In fact, the tooling used to manage Windows and Mac fleets generally doesn't even exist for Linux, or is just very bad (Active Directory, Intun

After buiyng a Yubikey and using it for like one year, I now use 1Password to manage all my MFA. It can work like Google Authenticator (using OTP), except it's not tied to a single device. Not as safe as Yubikey, but likely a good comp

I've started watching Lamport's TLA+ course in YT and it totally blew my mind. What are other good resources in formal verification?

Haven't tested it myself, but there's now a cli to decouple devcontainers from VSCode: https://github.com/devcontainers/cli

I've been using VSCode + .devcontainer with great success. I've also tried Nix recently, but couldn't grok it.

I think your average enterprise sysadmin/networking person doesn't really care about IPSec vs Wireguard.

Fortinet has a (cloud controlled, IPSec based) mesh VPN solution. Maybe other networking equipment vendors also have their own offerings.

Most stuff you mentioned: 1 - Is not an actual relational DB 2- Doesn't really scale to zero Planetscale does scale to zero, but has a ridiculous billing model.

Fly.io does not scale to zero. Lambda has many limitations. In particular, for some reason AWS is allergic to providing a container deployment service that actually scales to zero.

My anecdotal evidence is developers struggle big time to deploy simple stuff to AWS. "Easy things should be easy" isn't part of their philosophy. Not complaining thought, I make good money understanding AWS so others don'
