It's not entirely unreasonable on its face; physical fulfillment is a complicated business domain. You might have services dealing with suppliers, customers, delivery vendors, regulatory compliance, payments, sales taxes, so on, so fo

So, accessing shared mutable state from many threads at once is dangerous. It's hard to lay the blame for this on Go - it's true in most languages I know of. I suppose one ought to guard such maps with a RW lock, or a `sync.Map`

This feels related to "The Dress", somehow (is it blue and black, or white and gold?). Do these separate illusions share a common cause (high/low contrast colors juxtaposed)?

I still lament the demise of Rdio - it truly did have the best UX of all the streaming players. How unfortunate that they couldn't make the business work! Just about all of the gripes in TFA were non-issues or avoided with thoughtful

Eh, sorry, when you clicked "agree" you agreed to give up your right to collective action in favor of confidential arbitration that is _totally_ more fair than those nasty old courts.

Your link (to an obviously-anti-union think-tank) describes government overreach much more than it describes typical activity. Without knowing more details of the situation, the most glaring problem here is that the State of Illinois assert

Rent, healthcare, etc. Some have 401k accounts, if they are lucky, otherwise you have IRAs which have an annual contribution limit of $6000, IIRC (am not an expert and am likely wrong on that point). Pensions are unavailable and housing i

Two thoughts come to my mind. One, this article and the project it covers will be good negotiating leverage against Microsoft's fee increases. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up winning back lower license fees and sticking wi

I'm aware of some Rust in the Azure IoT gateway, but that's more due to the desires of the specific team lead than to any organizational drive toward Rust. (he's the author of Actix, among other things)

More compelling to me are the Icelandic "lax" and the extinct Chinese pronunciation. although... if the language "Tocharian B" is extinct, how can we know its pronunciation? There must be a way, but I can't fathom

Unsurprising, given the close relationship between Yiddish and German, and the fact that the English "lox" is literally the Yiddish word.

At least as of November 2018 (when I left), everything you said was still true. However! CodeFlow was also integrated into VSTS, whose review tooling is very much inspired by CodeFlow. Reviewers could use their web browser or the client a

It's a telling indictment of the current state of intellectual-property regulation that public-domain activists consider a 100-year copyright to be a "victory". It's hard to imagine that this term won't be extended
