This is bad advice: « Do not wash your hands in the bathroom; use alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol instead. » Alcohol only kills some pathogens. Notably, it does not kill norovirus. If the water has coliform bact

WTF is with these AI slop header images... does the author actually think an image of a woman crumpling a cup into her face against a backdrop of airplane parts is not going to distract from the post?

If you ticked the agree-to-TOS box (even if anonymously and offline) then you still "agreed" to the TOS. At least in a legal sense. I think you might be conflating some things.

Huh, kind of sounds like they used LLMs to design it. :-)

I sign up with a different email address on every website. (I have a catchall at my domain, rather than using plus-addressing.) The results are more boring than you think. Almost no one leaks my address. A couple have been hacked, but almos

What does it mean for an email address to "resolve" to a cell company?

He has a different address than yours and has given out an incorrect version to some people (perhaps a misspelling of his name). The dots are ignored.

I mean, it's not just any person at Flock, it's the CEO. But I hear what you're saying about public cameras.

His other two (much longer) videos go into those details. This one is more of a quick update. Just to give you a sense of the kind of company we're dealing with, the CEO of Flock called the guy who made a Flock camera map an "anti

He's pretty open in this video about how Flock is far from alone in this space, and he's just using them as an example because they're so popular and flagrantly abusive.

How can you tell the output is solid? The creation of a plan also implies that some work has gone into making sure it's a good one. That's one human (the author) asserting that it's solid. But now you're not even sure if

Look, it's pretty simple: A bunch of companies have been shoving AI into their products without a lot of consideration for what their users actually want and need. This is a signal for current and future actions that are user-hostile,

I have no idea whether any of the AI features require explicit setup vs. automatically use a paid-for API somewhere. But it also doesn't matter, because that's the kind of distinction that I've seen go back and forth elsewher

No. Imagine you wrote a personal diary entry in a text file on your computer, and only afterwards wrapped it in HTML tags. Did you just make it a document intended for broad publication?

There should be a new rule on HN: No posts that just go "I asked an LLM and it said..." You're not adding anything to the conversation.
