The iPad had whatever came with the iPad2 by default, which I assumed was the latest, maybe it wasn't. Anyway, I haven't upgraded to 5 yet since it has seemed wrinkly for a lot of people. Wrt notifications... I just don't understand _why_

Dunno why you got downmodded... Anyway, yeah the Nexus One is definitely not bug free. But it's been the case with things on the iPad too, but in general it's pretty stable. I don't use it as much throughout the day as the N1 though, so,

I started with an N1 and later got an iPad 2. I found I had to turn off all push notifications and was surprised that apple would put out something that had such inferior usability when the notification dropdown thing that Android has is s

Amit Gupta started Jelly ( http://workatjelly.com/ ), the coworking space, and founded Photojojo ( http://photojojo.com/ ). I don't know him personally, (friend of a friend), but he is a really nice guy.

The kind of open that they do is definitely less good than I would have hoped (I would love to be able to submit patches for the bugs I regularly encounter on my N1, say). But trust me, of all the people I know who have android phones here

Fwiw, many is a very relative term there. Android phones are definitely mainstream. I'd say of all the people I know that have an android phone, less than 10% even know what "open source" means.

We're doing this with our second child now. It removes a lot of frustration from the parents and the kids when the child can actually communicate about what they want, see, hear, think, etc. It seems to cut down on fits, and definitely he

Out of curiosity, did you measure that quantitatively or is it just a qualitative observation? If quantitatively, what did you use to measure it? (Totally just randomly curious...)

This reminds me of this great article by Clayton Christensen to Harvard Business students about life balance: http://hbr.org/2010/07/how-will-you-measure-your-life/ar/1 Looking back over a short 7 year or so career I can't remember many p

It's so interesting to me how you can get these large companies that stay around even though they don't innovate. I mean, I don't explicitly use yahoo services for nearly anything. I occasionally look at flickr photos these days (other pe

Yeah the article talks about the things he said after he left Oracle but before he joined Google, but is pretty light on the specifics (the "ongoing legal battle" mentioned is the Android patent snafu).

Interesting, since he just joined google 5 months ago... http://news.cnet.com/8301-30685_3-20047787-264.html I wonder if this is in any way related with the ongoing android litigation snafu.

I see what you're saying here. The notion that this would be more analagous to a corporate office break-in makes more sense, but it still seems like a poor argument for why what LulzSec is doing, though seemingly negative, is actually bene
