You can still get rapid feedback with a computer simulation tool for automotive engineers (of which I have no specific knowledge, though!).

I really appreciate the feedback. This is what drove at least 80% of the development time. We spent more time fixing issues and adding certain features that beta testers reported & requested than developing the gist of the application.

We've applied to YC with a music composition application as opposed to a music reader. We think the iPad is ideal for this domain since the much larger screen will allow users to take advantage of interfaces like a virtual keyboard or guita
