It is possible in Austria though. We’ve met a group of people who’ve kept at it post-COVID enforced periods of lockdown homeschooling, because it worked so well for their children. The parents take turns supervising the group and I think th

Holding Austria back from what? I’m not Austrian either, do live there and despite some factors I’m not a fan of, the lack of digitisation in society in general is a strong selling point for me. I really do believe that excessive digitisati

The self checkouts are a problem in themselves. Where I have the choice, I will always go to a human operated checkout line. I would prefer people have jobs, rather than seeing them taken over by the self-service option. Also in the UK rece

It’s happening already, as noted in my comment above. A fair number of venues in the UK no longer accept cash payments.

I absolutely hope this does not happen. It’ll be another trade of perceived convenience over privacy. I absolutely do not want to run my life from my phone. I want to pay for things with cash. I am happy to perform admin tasks in person whe

Just from the headline I thought something similar - developing something around catnip or valerian, which is kind of an interesting idea but probably already done.

I haven’t started a limited company in Ireland, but I have looked into it. I was interested for pretty much the same reasons you are - I wanted English language, common law and EU. From what I could find, using a service company to sort eve

Not quite what you describe, but in this short film Utopia, similar themes are explored - exclusion from society due to non-compliance with the "digital lifestyle." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJYaXy5mmA8

Extra cannisters of diesel (or petrol if that's what your car uses). I have 100L in five cannisters stashed under my stairs. It'll be useful to give me extra range, but I also imagine that it might end up as some form of currency.

I felt the same way over the first two days, and still do to an extent, but somewhat found a way out. We live in pretty much central Europe. My wife is Ukrainian and that language is one of three commonly spoken in our household. As I'

Similar to you, I started skiing at 45, the same time as my almost 4yr old did. That first season, I remember falling a few times, but absolutely not more than 20 for the whole season. Four years later, I have a ski crazy 7yr old who rips d

I disagree. I specifically searched for Salzstiegl ski club, I don’t really care about the language, just return the website I am looking for. Why does Google return the correct result first, regardless of language? I also tried setting DDG

Sadly DDG sometimes doesn’t work for very specific searches too. I have DDG as my default search in all browsers, but find myself typing !g too often. For example, today I searched for “Salzstiegl ski club”. Not even on the first page in DD

In Australia, I think the default style has changed over time. Back in the 1980s, Mack and Kenworth were the dominant brands. Now there's more of a mix, with the likes of Volvo and Scania doing well, but Mack and Kenworth are still in

When sports betting, unless using a betting exchange such as Betfair mentioned above, or a totaliser agency, you'll likely use a bookmaker. The bookmaker is effectively the house. The bookmaker will set a market (make book) of prices o
