Of course you could. The target market would be masochists and they spend money on those kind of products/services already.

I don't really see that there's a problem with incivility on HN. Of your suggestions I only take issue with the first; if I had to post with my full name I'd leave. I've already got Facebook/Twitter/blogging if I want to publish something

I'm not sure that I can agree. 1) The blog post of yours which attracted such vitriol was entitled "Never Hire Job Hoppers. Never. They Make Terrible Employees"; you aren't using a conciliatory tone and it seems unfair to expect one in resp

If I were an AT&T shareholder I'd be somewhat concerned to have a CEO who thought "hiring someone make legal threats" was a better use of company funds than just filtering the guy out as spam.

I can think of a couple of changes that would make this sort of thing much rarer: a) Force universities to publish[1] data on average graduate salaries after graduation. That way noone can delude themselves that a $100K major in Cultural S

Given there are followers of Islam out there who (off the top of my head) bombed the Danish embassy in Pakistan, murdered Theo Van Gogh and put a bounty on Salman Rushdie's head I don't find it shocking at all that there were people willing

The problem for Facebook isn't that people are going to quit, it's that they're going to stop sharing anything worthwhile. Once the majority starts treating it as a glorified address book there's much less reason for people to visit regular

If that doesn't work I'm just going to learn some French words and randomly sprinkle them throughout my conversations. Merci. Baguette. Champagne. [1] [1] See? I sound erudite already.

On the plus side Lauren Rosenberg's name is out there on the internet marking her as the person stupid enough to walk down a very busy highway and then sue others when she gets hit by a car. This will doubtless come back to haunt her in the

When someone does something incredibly stupid and then has the temerity to sue others for their stupidity it's really hard to wish them anything but ill luck.

I don't have a problem with someone tinkering with coffee cup designs if it gives them enjoyment. I just find the pretense that it's going to make a non-negligible difference to the environment puzzling and intellectually dishonest. What'

I have a hard time seeing how this is anything other than a feel-good distraction that provides little in the way of real benefits. Non-disposable coffee cups do not make up a meaningful proportion of our environmental footprint as a whole

I'm not sure what's so awkward about telling someone that you want a Prenup in the first place. If you're close enough to someone to consider marrying them then you're close enough to tell them that you need one.
