Ask! Seriously, just ask. Keep an eye for people on social media who you think would be of help to you, and just politely ask them if they would be your advisor or know someone who would be. It works! Not immediately, but people do respond

It is an acquisition funnel strategy for YC. Their main source of income comes from YC startups. This platform is just to attract those startups/founders. The jobs section you mentioned, that is only for YC startups.
