You may be on to something. However, I think the biggest thing that detracts from many beloved franchises today is a design philosophy where everyone is hell bent on streamlining out all of the gameplay to the point where the gameplay isn&#

X-Com Apocalypse is one of my favorite games. I can't stand the new ones. They have shiny graphics (which I generally like in most games) but they have streamlined stuff to the point where it doesn't even remotely feel like the sa

TempleOS's HolyC might qualify. IMO TempleOS is potentially the greatest work of outsider art in the history of the world.

I'm just getting into the hobby of woodcarving myself. There are some online classes but most of them charge a small subscription fee. If I were looking for an in-person class these are probably good places to look and/or ask, the

If you take another look at the last half of my comment its essentially what you said, when they have their shit together its better live. I don't think most musicians fall into that category. At least most rock/metal/bluegra

>Good seats at a popular rock concert are easily $250. You can get the mp3 for next to nothing, and it will be a better recording too. Most musicians sound like shittier versions of themselves live. Some of them have great sound engineer

I'm glad the 3080 is launching first so I can try getting one of those and if they are sold out I have time to think about whether I want to try dropping more than twice as much on a 3090 instead.

Yea I think if you run the calculations and you have room you should be good if your PSU is just slightly above the power requirements. If you run an unusual amount of memory or HDDs/etc, you might want to calculate everything manually

People are speculating that the 2x numbers come from RTX and/or DLSS, but they also doubled the number of CUDA cores so its possible its going to be an actual raw performance gain. I think its wise to be skeptical until independant ben

Some of Twombly's work is aesthetically pleasing and well composed, but some of them could have easily been a page of doodles ripped out of any middle schooler's notebook, like the $800,000 "Murder of Olefernes". Overall
