Perhaps it's time they consider lidar? Elon hasn't seen the WHY yet? Tesla CEO Elon Musk has stated that cameras are the only sensors self-driving vehicles need, and that Tesla's electric vehicles do not use lidars. Musk has

If you're traveling near Dayton Ohio or near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base ever I HIGHLY recommend visiting the National Museum of the United States Air Force. They have a XB-70 on display and it's amazing how large the plane is

>Wow, you very accurately explained my life, except i'm on call even more than that. I'm sorry, it has to be one of my least favorite things about this career. Nothing worse than getting calls off-hours when it's only you.

Let's see... 14 days on call every 3 months. 3 releases a week. All the normal review work. PRs, design, etc. SCRUM meetings. Meetings before the meetings. Crazy deadlines which were arbitrarily given by someone in another group. Being

I have been since the first people at my previous employer told me it would replace all the programmers. Then I found out the developers assigned to working on the low/no code parts had a component where they could write Java inside th

The more I mess with SBCs the more I lean towards this method. The M720q's or M710q's are two of my favorites. As an added bonus the chargers even work with my lenovo laptop(s). I wish someone made a rack to hold them vertically.

Damn, I was hoping the old PoE hats would continue to work with this one. Looks like the PoE pins have moved around. Another 20+ USD on top of the board cost... Kinda disappointing, but the upgraded SD speeds will be nice. Was also hoping

I wonder what the FBI has for running on linux/unix? I'm sure the FBI budget allows the means to create a botnet for any OS, but the easiest thing to do (maybe) would be to stop using windows..?

I haven't been able to find them for cheaper than say ~$120 USD. I purchased two "GMKtec Mini PC Windows 11 Pro Intel 11th Gen N5105" on amazon for $115 each after a coupon. These are the 8GB Memory and 128GB SSD version. I&#

Honestly, look on ebay for used Lenovo ThinkCentre M/P "Tiny" or Dell Optiplex "Tiny" computers. They can be purchased by the lot for most of them as businesses get rid of the old ones. I use 4 Lenovo M910x's a

I commented above, whether the salary is 150k, 250k, 500k... the impact doesn't change 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.33%. Not sure it really matters. Again I'm not defending lazy employees or saying employers are bad for doing this. I feel there

TBH I think the average Sr. Developer is ~130k in the US. Of course this varies so much depending on the role and company.

Understand 2x, I was also looking across all the jobs at spotify. There are some that go as low as 70k salary, a majority seem to be 170k+. It was just for ease of calculation. even if we take 500k that's still 0.033% of revenue -_-

I wonder how much of this has to do with COVID and how much has to do with fentanyl. I am shocked that no one is even talking about the excess fentanyl deaths. Also how much of this is attributed to our fading health system?
