Yeah, it would be like, say, a python developer not knowing how interpreted languages worked. Or how a shebang worked. To the extent of thinking it was impossible to use an interpreted language for `init`. Something like that, right?

I last looked about 6 years ago, right enough, but then £120 a month was the maximum charge I could find, that was with zero excess and get paid money for any nights in an NHS hospital, etc etc. I'm not sure what I'd need to add o

Jails are a powerful tool, but they are not a security panacea. While it is not possible for a jailed process to break out on its own, there are several ways in which an unprivileged user outside the jail can cooperate with a privileged use

No it's not. Public healthcare spending in the US is higher, per capita, than spending on the NHS. And how the buggery are you managing to spend £2300 a year on health insurance in the UK? That's crazy expensive. Ok, it's les

Your comment is extremely misleading. Firstly, the "couple of seconds warning" does not seem accurate. The actual report states: "Our test drivers are trained and prepared for these events and the average driver response time

If you're talking about inclusion and exclusion from any particular groups, you're going to talk about "shibboleths". It's quite a common term and no more flamboyant than talking about "MathML" or "hy

It's not a misuse. It's the correct usage. The notion that "begging the question" being used as a piece of debating jargon, is the only possible use or arrangement of those words, is frankly bizarre. I really wish this f

We're talking electricity here, not all energy, and 96% of electricity in Norway is from renewable (nearly all hydro).

Well, the Netherlands will have the same type of renewable energy targets as the rest of the EU so that should be reduced by 2025. I believe they already buy a fair chunk of their electricity from Norway, which is practically all renewable.

Of course it's possible that by 2025 (barring disaster) EVs will be so much better than fossil fuel powered cars that no-one would buy anything else as a new car. There will still be the second-hand market of course.
