According to GP's linked article it's true when looking at the banking sector as a whole. For a single bank it seems like more of a technicality. Also from the article: > For example, if all of the deposits that a bank held wer

I found [1] which reports noise temperatures around 20–30 K for the 34 m antenna that receives Voyager data [2]. The equivalent noise spectral density is around -215 dB/Hz! [1] https://descanso.jpl.nasa.gov/monograph&#x

Yet using functional staples like map and reduce is discouraged by GvR himself. I guess it's alright as long as the language can adapt to your needs (even though this might contradict the "one obvious way" idea).

I've had the same experience. On the front-end, reagent is a joy to use. Haven't found a framework that feels more elegant/smooth than what reagent does with components and hiccup (maybe adding re-frame for state management).

Not sure if this is about comfort. Those complicated workflows and interfaces pretty much go against the principles of what designers are trying to achieve with their own work.

Magit is great! Even if Emacs is not for you I'd still recommend giving only Magit a try. It transformed my workflow from staging and committing full files in one step to using the staging area with parts of files or single lines if ne

That's why he calls it a paradox. IIRC Popper mentions it in the context of the also relevant democratic paradox (a democracy abolishing itself by democratic process).

OTOH if you're a private business, refusing service to someone can be a way to express your political opinion. It's easy to call out injustice and oppression for many categories (race, gender, ...) but that case is harder to make

Our arms have an entire subspace of possible solutions (you can move your elbow around while keeping your hand in place). In robotics, there are a couple of measures that can be minimized/maximized while computing inverse kinematics. W

Another interesting point is that from a numerical optimization point of view, the Jacobian transpose method is analogous to gradient descent, while using its (pseudo) inverse is basically the Gauss-Newton algorithm.

In both cases, you have to transform between the goal in operational space (e.g. end effector pose) and the joint positions. One drawback of using the Jacobian inverse approach for control is that command values can get arbitrarily large in
