Can't you easily make this yourself? Does anyone know of a good tutorial for doing this?

They could also be trying to avoid tons of poorly built apps that overwhelm the market. I seem to feel that this is somewhat the case with iPhone apps.

True, but only at the beginning. I think if you were a great programmer, you would likely build something that made money and you would no longer be poor. This does seem like a chicken-or-the-egg dilemma, though, by not being able to deve

If Blizzard were to really make this legitimate, new users would probably be turned off to the fact that they, too, are sweating to boost their character when others are just buying it. If it is somewhat underground, many people don't see

I love his innovative use of github. It's clever, and it works surprisingly well!

I'm there with you on the lack of a matte display. I find it hard to believe that glare is not an issue to those with glossy screens. I think people simply deal with it because of our inherent draw towards that which is shiny...

Multi-user editing can be really great sometimes. That's something that the desktop apps don't have or don't use effectively. Behind-the-scenes version control is in Google Docs, so I'd expect it to be in their presentation app, too. That

I'm really impressed with the online team at LJWorld. It still surprises me that great work, like Django, came out of a relatively small town in Kansas.

It's not like these newspapers aren't still available somewhere in their dead-tree form. I assume Google isn't the only place where these newspapers are archived. They just made it easier to access and search the papers.

I would have loved to stay close with my friends from college, but the problem with graduating from college is that you all tend to go your own way (which is typically to various cities around that US). It sucks that I can't see any of the

Personally, I think Apple will have a really hard time after Jobs leaves (much moreso than when he left before).

Ha, how unlikely. People will just begin to think "oh...I can only wear an Apple shirt (w/ embedded sensors) when I want to use my Apple iPhone to get body measurements/data." People will gladly bend over and take it. Haha, imagine other

Yeah, I agree. When I took long tests like the SAT or college final exams, I definitely noticed the drain. I needed some sugary drink/candy (or just beer) afterward, for sure.

It's like it's doing to Firefox what Firefox did to Mozilla. Strip away the fluff to have a slim browser that does what you want. They keep harping on how it's open source and that their great ideas will improve the web. Wasn't that the

Agreed! I really don't want HN losing its niche as a non-sensationalistic news site for hackers, founders, entrepreneurs, and all-around technical folks.

This is a great read along the lines of the GTD philosophy. Very simple to handle and very focused on continuing to complete tasks on your To-Do list. I've got to try this out now to slim down my To-Do list. It's getting a bit crufty.
