I make music mostly for fun and my m1 is barely keeping up with Logic Pro and the plugins I'm running, which are amp sims, various typical mixing plugins, and virtual drums. I'm not even using a crazy number of tracks at any given

Why would an indie dev want to spend years making a game engine instead of building an actual game? Especially for small teams or solo projects?

Do you live in an area with great public transportation? My phone is a necessity driving anywhere unless I want to take twice as long due to random spots of traffic.

They should fine them for credit triggers too, as the phone spam is atrocious. They legally sell your info and the fact you are looking for a loan to sketchy mortgage lenders who will spam you for weeks. I know people who have experienced t

I used tailwind for several personal projects, then realized I was spending way more time than I used to styling things. I switched back to bootstrap for personal projects, where I make a few tweaks to the global theme, then write zero css

My least favorite thing is how many highly upvoted answers are telling the OP to "do something else" instead of actually answering the question. Sometimes requirements come from above and we don't have a choice!

I buy back my decomissioned work laptop for $50, which means I get a fairly new ThinkPad that works pretty perfectly with Linux.

I find implementing certain common things in react to be a pain, such as state management and route guards. Vue is similarly unopinionated, but it is more intuitive to my particular brain.

Have you both bought and sold a primary residence without a realtor? Interested to hear about the experience.

by pg5 3y ago
I disagree with this. You pay a realtor because a good one stays up to date with what's happening in the market, has a network of vetted contractors/potential buyers/other connections, has up-to-date frameworks for handling t

I don't know about perfect. The tiny action button/links result in misclicks for me fairly often.

I was doing my undergrad during the same time period, and I always went with the physical book option when one existed. I for some reason find it much quicker to read and find stuff in a physical book. I also hate reading on a screen (didn&

I cured mine by replacing it with a music creation obsession.

In the last couple years, I used to use checks pretty frequently to transfer between my personal and business bank accounts with different banks. It was the easiest way to do it without fees and was reasonably quick (used mobile deposit).

This is neat. I'm curious where you got the list of stations. I try to keep a list of them, as most of them accept indie music submissions.

For album art, I've found MidJourney is the best of the three. However, I am mainly generating creepy stuff due to my musical genre.

I want to be able to wake up every day and spend most of it making music and some of it working on personal software projects. How to get there I do not know.

When you build muscle, the bones get stronger too. I'm curious how far you could go with this before getting the risk of breaking your bones.

I've used frisson as a metric of whether or not I like a song without having known it. Interesting that Metallica's Master of Puppets is on the list, instead of One or Welcome Home, as those two have more of an effect on me.

I like the idea, but I would expect your PayPal business account to get banned pretty quickly without a more rigorous sign up process to prevent illegal content from being sold.

VPS providers usually have a clause against proxies and tor relays. Might be able to get away with it since it's a tor middle node not an exit node, but I wouldn't want to mess around if I'm using my server for anything impor

There should be a warning at the top of the readme to tell people that running this on any public cloud server will probably get your account terminated.

I'm very glad to hear that this is the case, as the developer experience for streaming via Mux looks awesome - much less of a headache than building out a transcoding/delivery pipeline with separate transcoding APIs, object storag
