You are wrong about pretty much all of that, including your assumed reasoning for why this is happening. Jay chose to change her role so she could do deeper work on the technology. That's it.

This move came from Jay so that she could focus more on the atproto ecosystem and forward looking development. Personally, I'm happy for her. The CEO role gets extremely wrapped up in operations & org building, and as a technologis

I actually don't think Blacksky reflects any kind of cultural purging cycle. Blacksky is extremely practical in its formation & purpose - not reactionary to any specific events on the network - and most of the bluesky/blacksky

What are you, Thiel’s alt? The guy backed Facebook, built a mass surveillance firm, and talks about democracy as an obstacle. How do you expect people to feel about him?

Ah yes, the real danger to the world isn’t a powerful man feeling ambivalent about our survival. The real danger is society using that moment as propaganda. This regarding Thiel, a man who most recently tried to make a “Greta Thunberg is th

Yeah I’m the guy quoted in the opening of the article. Yes. Be wary of Bluesky. That’s our whole point. Run the infrastructure on your own. Build separate companies. Most of the complaints here are just about the cost of scale. You are able

I know when I’m using a Nostr app because its logo is an endless spinner. At the scales these systems run at, you need large indexes. Distributing those indexes across many nodes would require a breakthrough in federated queries, and if you

We don’t know for sure whether this behavior was requested by the user, but I can tell you that we’ve seen similar action patterns (but better behavior) on Bluesky. One of our engineers’ agents got some abuse and was told to kill herself. T

If you went through multiple rounds it likely means they were seriously considering you but ultimately they didn’t get to a yes. If it’s any comfort that means you did pretty well. The short stints on a resume is likely not the only reason
