Totally. Lack of sanitation, food, etc… do cause deaths. Lack of equality is a fact of life. It cannot kill. Thanks. I agree with you totally.

It is so “philosophically” because the larger your set, the less inner structures it has (the larger your set the less you can say). Akin to “you cannot say much about a genus but you can say a huge lot about a species”. Of course this is a

This is topical but your comment reminded me of Deming’s New Economics. Rewards in a system with intrinsic variance are harmful and unjust.

Indeed. "You must be good and I must compel you to" is the way to totalitarianism. As is "you must let me make you happy" (this is the communist ideal).

Just a piece of unsolicited advise: either morality should not be defined by feelings. These are not universal. There are lots of things which feel good but can be bad (like saying yea to a child’s desire) and vice-versa (like saying no to

I have also read Kaczynski. The two main problems are: his notion of freedom, which is too simplistic (almost akin to absence of conditioning) and his rose-colored view of an imaginary past which dis not exist ever (past without technology

As a teacher, I would rather examine my students orally. Shorter and to the point. Much fairer. In that sense, what he says is normal.

It is not illegal, it comes with strings attached because in general, in the EU the employee is seen as being the weak side of a contract, and is protected (to a point) against arbitrariness from the strong side.

So this is exactly like in sects? You leave and automatically you just “were not that important”… Even if you were the CEO? What if Tim leaves? Or has he signed a permanent contract? Is he afraid to leave?

There is the fact that in the EU you have the right to ask (and the business the obligation to comply) for your data to be deleted. This is incompatible with your data being kept by a US business in the US, which is not subject to that law.

As it is said here frequently, if your revenue depends essentially on a single actor (as is the case), your business is doomed by definition. Cf: all those people who depend on a google project to survive. This is the same, but at scale.
