It's horrible if you're coming from languages such as Portuguese in which "puche" literally means pull!! Almost 10 years in the states and I still have to think before every single git commit.

Hi. Nice job there. Like others, I was interested in the network architecture. Is the code open source / available somewhere?

"if you're trying to say that disorder is a confusing term, then that's true. " Yes, that is what I mean. The number of microstates can increase and yet make it look, to the eye, like the system is more ordered than befo

Actually it seems so. I'm no geologist but a quick google search for Gutenberg–Richter plots show that this 'kink' can have a very specific physical reason: http://www.frontiersin.org/files/Articles/

My point was that maybe for high mag quakes the power law is invalid... Or at least I dont think we have enough data at this end to be certain of what is going on. Here's another plot, this time from UK seismic frequency, where again t

Most likely, since building a facility to survive a 2.5x stronger shake would surely be a lot more expensive. I was also curious about how the data in the past few years did not follow the same trend as before. Does anyone know if that is w

Have a look at this lecture. It's really well explained, at a undergrad level, how the cell keeps the error rate low. Quite impressive, imo. https://youtu.be/DRBREvFL19g

If you ever happen to be near Pescadero in the Bay area, make sure to stop by the (one) coffee shop there and check out the Apple II in the back. Real nice treat.

I'm sad to say I'm a clueless Honda driver myself (shadow spirit 750). But his book inspired to get the manual and start working thru it. Hopefully by the summer I'm making my first adjustments.

We can't forget that Boltzmann was purely thinking of (near) equilibrium structures. Structure emerges spontaneously minimizing free-energy, totally OK with LBs high entropy laws.
