I guess what I was trying to say is that I wish the JS world had had its own gofmt/refmt from the get-go. But since it didn't, the community's still pretty undecided more than 20 years after the language came into being, and

even though StandardJS's decisions don't match the style predominant in the JS community I find it particularly ironic that there's a reasonably popular fork called semistandard. [1] In all seriousness though, I'd real

This is one of those surprisingly subtle things that's particularly difficult for native speakers to explain, and things are complicated even more by the fact that British English and US English vary slightly in their usage. I personal

What do you think about the recent Airbnb ban here in Berlin? Do you think it's done anything to improve that situation or at least "stem the tide"? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe

Agreed. The USPS also provides address verification / normalization services. [1] Though I'm honestly not sure those are as comprehensive as certain other countries, as you mentioned. Germany has the Meldepflicht [2] for instance

Can confirm—DigitalOcean is great at remote work. I'm consistently impressed by how well connected I feel, despite being across the ocean from our HQ in NYC. People really care and put in the effort to make it work. It also definitely

it came in handy whenever a student emailed me their homework as a pile of JPEGs. Gotta admire this guy's resourcefulness—and patience. If I were a professor, I'd probably just reject the assignment outright if a student sent me

This is great! I like that the focus is on companies (regardless of their hiring status), rather than job listings. When I started searching for remote positions a while back, I was more interested in finding a good company first, not nec

Cracks me up that he mentions painting as little more than a side note. "Oh yeah and I paint sometimes too." This from the guy who went on to create what is arguably the most famous painting in the history of art.

I found myself nodding along (if not necessarily agreeing 100%) until I got to this: I could have done the whole thing Taco Bell style if I had only manned up and broken out sed, but I pussied out and wrote some Python. I know this articl
