It's already very much a thing. Installing your own distro on your car is probably quite a way off though. Of all the things I don't want instability in, it's that. https://www.automotivelinux.org

I'm a D500 shooter and don't plan on switching yet. I'll probably pick up a D850 at some point as the prices will inevitably drop as people make the leap and sell off their old gear. I have a nice selection of lenses, I don&#

While not to this scale, it's happened several times before. Don't Stop Believin' from the Sopranos and Only You from the final scene of The Office were both thrown back into the limelight 25-30 years after their release.

One of the neovim devs released a video just a couple of days ago on the topic. He suggests neovim (and vim, emacs etc) fall into a category between text editor and IDE. The term he uses is PDE (personalised development environment). In sho

The new Nikon 800mm f/6.3 fits in this niche perfectly. There's a new 400mm f/4.5 on the way too. If I was starting from scratch I'd totally be taking this route.

Git was built with a very specific use case and aimed at an extraordinarily technical subset of users. It dominated the world despite the UX flaws, which suggests they really aren't that bad.

You'd expect the file picker and nautilus to share behaviour though, right? Also for me, if I open the file picker from Chrome/Edge/an Electron app it's forced full screen and there's no preview on the right either.

I think GitHub was a massive factor in Git's rise. It would be much easier to displace if a huge part of the world's code hosting infrastructure wasn't using it. Nearly every project will use GitHub, directly or indirectly.

You can read the book in half the running time of the movies. There's a lot of padding and pointless meandering in them. It should never have been a trilogy.

I think this would put Android users at a huge disadvantage because of the way the app works (it takes a screenshot of what's on the display). This might have changed, haven't really used the app for a couple of years.
