Cell tower/provider is a big part I think from my own experience; I'd get constant captchas and rejects only when near one specific tower at work, which happened to be right over a fedex ground building, take that how you will...

Another reason is older versions of 10 have WMR support; many people who bought a HP Reverb G2 headset aren't ready for it to be a paperweight yet. A couple open replacement options are in the works but nothing is 100% compatible yet

Depending on your lengths, budget, and your region's weather, might be worth giving second thought to just renting a little trencher and running a spare conduit or two (and maybe a water line too) then you're not locked in with on

Edit: apparently Ubiquiti quietly EOL'd the USG, so no more security updates. Just bought a UCG Ultra, so far seems a decent replacement, I like that the little screen rotates when mounted upside down

Sounds like that person knows very little and wants to sound important for a podcast. Security clearances are taken very seriously, you can't just spitball about classified things you've seen. My dad had classified knowledge from

You mean the fact that shredding as an action exists? Or specifically that the fed shredded JFK docs? Its shifting the goal posts when the call has to been release all the documents, and when they do just that, saying it wasnt in fact all t

It got better recently if you've seen the fall out from the trip to the Antartic; the flerfs completely turned on their top-tier streamers when they observed that the sun does in fact stay in the sky 24hrs a day: green screen, video wa

I know this is not your point for the last paragraph, but have you read about the C-130 complete navigation system failure while trying land below sea level at the Dead Sea? :) https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14409950

It's the context that they're planning a $25k robot taxi instead because automation is more important; it sounds like they can, and had wanted to make an affordable one, but Musk had a "vision" or something. Is a robot t

Think how successful Tesla could have been if he wasn't in the picture. Statements like a $25000 car being "pointless" are just wild; if they sold an affordable EV it would sell like crazy (well, could have once upon a time)

No, I'm very familiar with rats, but I can say for a fact that my friend's heavy duty plastic wheeled bins (the common ones) have been on the street 24/7 in NY and haven't been chewed into in the past 4 years. Probably h

I guess I'm confused about the article now because Brooklyn has trash cans everywhere, and I even recall seeing them 2-3 years ago. If I pick random street views every street has lidded bins
