I use Dokuwiki, but any wiki would do. I love the fact it keeps static files on the server's drive which unison syncs both way to my hard drive -- I can edit on the web and see the changes in my vim, or edit in vim and see the formatte

As far as I can tell, you are right, although in my view maybes are one step ahead: they form a monad. (Not saying there's anything stopping you from doing the same thing with nullables, but still they're a slightly different conc

At the office our jaws regularly drop at JetBrains' attention to detail, too. PHP development would be nightmare without their tools. If you're ever reading this, thank you guys very much.

I and my friends regularly sound exactly like the output of a markov babbler. "Hey, look, this is not encryption, we're just dumb!"

Bret Victor has been fantastic inspiration for me. I believed no programming video can make my jaw drop any longer, but Bret pulled it off. Hugely recommended: http://vimeo.com/71278954

Fragments indeed don't get sent to the server, and are usually used to track your location inside the document (be it jumping to section headers, or using js-generated dialog boxes, etc.). In an ideal world, this fragment is not change

Changing the hash, and therefore the URL, adds a new entry to your history. Lots of sites, even popular ones (looking at you, Skydrive) does abuse this and ruins the browsing experience. I have to remember which sites are implemented this w

Except that OpenID is a distributed protocol, which the Internet should so obviously use for authentication, not FB/G+.

I downvoted, because this is very short-sighted. IRC is simple. Blogs are simple. They had their time but they didn't win. They should have, though.

I've been thinking about this for some time now. If the browser is really to become the common platform for most applications in the future, shouldn't they be able to declare whatever interaction they desire? There are long articl
