Could be that “pandemic” thing making people a bit more cognizant of mortality.

Firstly, participants in the control group had a high level of activity throughout the study, and many exercised using HIIT. I absolutely get why they had to use a control group that was decently in shape, otherwise the effect size compar

I use Feedly for my sync backend to various apps. It has a pretty good automagic feed discovery system. Pop in the root URL of the site, and it’s good about discovering the proper feed.

You kids these days. I started using RSS in, I believe 2003, back when Mac OS X apps looked like this: https://ranchero.com/images/nnw/progress.jpg We synced our RSS feeds via FTP or .Mac, and we liked it .

Fiiiine, I am projecting, I admit it. I still can’t believe people are paying $600,000+ CAD for a 533 square-foot condo, and yet, condo prices are even headed up a bit.

An excellent point. How many people are/were barely attached to the banking system? Especially if you’re working, well, a bit under the table, in day labor situations like construction or office cleaning. I got my stimulus check. Basic

I just hate clomping around in the boots. But I manage. Now, do you have super-secret Scandinavian folk knowledge of good dog boots? Because I have tried, and he hates the damn things. And the rock salt irritates his feet quite a bit.

The US has a greater inclination and ability to build alliances. I really hate to bring up the T factor…but I think this is more in doubt than it used to be, given the current administration. Taiwan will be the key trigger for a possible

Flash?? Seriously? I'll be damned if I can find a reference, but it's definitely a “non-native” UI, probably using Adobe AIR. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_AIR

I think Halide is a great name for this app’s target audience: photo nerds. (I know of which I speak. I carry around a Fuji X100F when I walk the dog.) This app ain’t no Snapchat clone so you can give yourself cat eyes and freakishly smoo

Or just bafflingly ugly design. Like the Chevy Bolt. Attractive price. Good mileage. Looks like someone’s parody of a cheap hatchback.

I wrote a bit sloppily, and my comparison is imperfect. Teslas drive super well, in comparison to the miserable little penalty box of the Prius. I’m saying it’s more of a “street cred” issue, versus the actual driving merits.

Friend of mine had one. Great car. Great mileage. You don’t get street cred for driving a Ford Fusion. Sadly.

A better chart than what I linked. https://evadoption.com/ev-sales/evs-percent-of-vehicle-sales... (The Volt isn't even a pure electric, so now I regret linking that wiki page.)

The Prius is a miserable little piece of shit for people who hate driving. The Prius is the second-worst contemporary car I have ever driven. (The winner: Nissan Versa.) Just that inscrutable shifter alone…

I admit to being a Tesla skeptic. I’m now way less of a Tesla skeptic, but barring regulation, I am still an electric car skeptic in North America. The pure electric car market still feels like the hybrid market, which is to say, there was
