I have to think WWDC was costly for Apple to do in person, and they may not go back. Not in terms of money—Apple is not rate-limited by money. But in terms of attention. Getting everyone on site for this, namely the engineers, while they ar

This is fantastic, and I'd suggest making a gist or something to store this permanently. Good, useful write-up of the actual standards, and now whatever AT&T decides is “5G”.

I would argue Consider Phlebus suffered from “early installment weirdness”, and feels not very Culture-y. As someone else said below, I truly enjoyed Excession , but it’s perhaps too Culture-y. Lots of Minds, and then humans that are kin

I think photography has always been about artistry. You are taking a 2-dimensional slice of a 4-dimensional world. Interpretation is inherent. Ansel Adams was surely no stranger to post-processing. https://photofocus.com/pho

As the author of the parent comment… …yes, I am aware Telegram does not use the absolute best practices, and at the very least, I imagine it can be cracked wide open by a nation-state intelligence agency. Which is why, for my occasional sup

Not a bad idea. Though, N=1, malls have pivoted (sorry) into that sort of live event space mode. When I was visiting family, the local mall had replaced a former anchor store with a really quite nice arcade.
