Yes, but making sure you can still read your encrypted emails after something went wrong with your setup and you had to reinstall is already harder. How PGP integrates with a system is not trivial to understand.

That is awful and I hope it will never pass. It would be a security nightmare. If passed, it should lead to a very wide review of all software using 127/8, and that will never be comprehensive...

How do you see that China is an actively hostile power?

Yes, that's called galvanic corrosion: metals with different electrical potentials come into contact and water enters the mix.

You seem to know a lot about it, but you're really just reinforcing the point.

Return value is not needed, so just "call away" -- asynchronously. I guess this means when a return value is used, the call is synchronous, and after running the method processing resumes where things left off.

The solution to this is to NEVER align, and use tabs for code indentation. And if you do ASCII diagrams, do them in comments and align them with spaces (of course). Tabs ONLY from the start of a line until code. No mixing of tabs and spaces

I thought this was about soda water, so I though, interesting, I wonder why, some health benefits? But for sugared or otherwise sweetened soda to make a comeback is disappointing...

The one thing I do not appreciate about this Show HN is that there is no repo linked. I do NOT want to install any apps, I just want to build something like this without becoming someone's customer... I guess my implementation would ju

We have a 40 yard driveway up a hill and trees in the line of sight. I am going to try this, as it will add another option of contacting us.

Confirmed, cargo-binstall is not configured for Marmite, so cargo will fall back to install, and the single-binary cargo-binstall will try its heuristics which do not detect ubuntu-latest-binary.zip or macos-latest-binary.zip.

I just tried `cargo binstall marmite`, but it feels (in this case?) that it was the same as doing `cargo install`. Anyway, if you have cargo (ergo, the whole rust toolchain), you might as well explicitly download the git repo, as things nee

I was going to say that. Pretty crazy! The seatbelt looks more like a robotic arm. Yet at the back there is a curve and a back window. It's really a hybrid car-building. Wondering what the black bar at the top is about...

Secure Boot can be leveraged to more securely boot anything you choose, but it does require some setup effort, so I get it if you choose to keep things simple (but less secure).

If you ran "only Linux, BSD, or MacOS" on a Microsoft hypervisor, yes. I would never recommend that, and your link exemplifies one reason why.

I completely lost a 5T encrypted ZFS drive, nothing whatsoever recoverable. That would never happen with LUKS/LVM. ZFS is great on enterprise hardware I'm sure.

No, getline() will stop reading at the newline, even if more (non-NUL) characters follow. EOF is end-of-file.
